Quiet Doorman™ Panic Bar Retainer
The Quiet Doorman™ Panic Bar Retainer is designed to protect valuable panic bar hardware from every day use. It also allows you to dog down panic bar hardware even if the dogging mechanism is worn out. This product provides you with a relatively inexpensive alternative to replacing your older panic bar hardware.
Note: fire codes prohibit the use of this product on fire door hardware.
Installation is quick and easy. Screws are provided allowing you to mount the retainer to wood or metal doors. An adhesive is used to attach the retainer to glass doors. (See price list page)
Using the strap type retainer is easy. To keep the door unlocked, simply depress the bar and place the strap over the bar and snap it into the retainer base. Later, the specially designed push key (prevents unauthorized use) lets you release the strap and the door returns to the locked position. The FA-120 strap type retainer is molded of a durable brown plastic. The nylon strap is the ingenuity behind the FA-120 series, allowing it to adapt to any shape of cross bar while maintaining a greater range of reach.
Using the hook type retainer is simple. To keep the door unlocked, simply depress the bar and place the hook over it, the specially designed push button keeps the hook in place. Later, the push button release lets you lift the hook off the bar and return it to the locked position. The hook type retainers are made of high quality heavy duty extruded aluminum.
